Full House Renovation – Farnham
This was a full renovation of a large, detached home in Farnham. The owners wanted every room updated, from the walls and ceilings right through to the flooring and exterior windows. OA handled the entire job: plastering, carpentry and decorating, all under one team.
Prep work
Before anything could be decorated, every room needed proper preparation. Old wallpaper was stripped, carpets lifted, and walls that were patchy or damaged were fully skimmed. Getting the plaster right at this stage is what makes the difference between a finish that lasts and one that doesn’t.
Carpentry & flooring
Wall panelling was installed throughout the main reception room and hallway. In the living room it runs floor to ceiling, with deep moulded frames that give the room a much stronger sense of character. The hallway got dado-height panelling and the original banister was repainted in gloss black, a clean contrast against the white walls.
Herringbone parquet flooring was laid across the ground floor. It’s a classic choice that works well with the age and size of the property.
Decorating
Once the carpentry and plastering were done, we decorated every room: walls, ceilings and all woodwork. The palette is mostly whites and off-whites, with a sage green in the kitchen. The exterior sash windows were also painted as part of the job.
